This is one of my new all-time favourite books. Maybe it's because I am partial to the wonderful illustrations of an amazingly stylish redhead, but I think it has more to do with the book as a whole. Yes, the drawings are fantastic, as are the hilarious little tidbits of information like - "Scientific fact: Everyone wears their best knickers to a wedding. Clearly we're all thinking the same thing.", but the writing and fashion are right up my catwalk. One of my absolute fave lines is when Michi, the fictional yet uber-stylish author writes, when talking about her shopping habits, "I am generally quite good at buying clothes as long-term friends rather than one-night stands." Brilliantly put! I have learned through this crazy, nuts, bananas experiment that I have one too many one-night stands hanging in my closet. How about you?
This book really is fantastic! I laughed out loud at least ten times!
Love, P

I just discoverd your blog/project after reading the article about you in the Toronto Star, and I have to say that I admire your resolve and perseverance! So much so that you inspired me to start a little project of my own, and that's to find out how much I actually spend on clothes and such in a year. It could be scary, and maybe in 2011 I will be checking into fashion rehab myself! After reading your article, I linked to your blog on my blog, www.defactoredhead.com, on Friday, and since then some of my friends have told me they, too, are really interested in your 365 days of abstinence. Good luck on the second half!
P.S. As a carrot-top myself, I also share your weakness for an amazingly stylish redhead, and want to find out more about "Like I Give a Frock" because of it. Thanks for the tip!
I also found your blog by reading the article in the Toronto Star. With all that's happening in the world at the moment, I think you've picked the perfect time to put this experiment into action! Bravo for taking the challenge. Looking forward to following you on the second leg of your journey!
I too was entertained by this book! Unfortunately I left it on a plane a few days after I bought it =(
Also - I just read your interview on the blog Fabulously Broke. You two are such an inspiration! At first I thought - there's no way I could do this, but reading the interview was encouraging and made it seem possible. Still improbable, but at least possible ;)
Loved your interview & your super cute pics! Love, Kate xo
I just discovered you two from Fabulously Broke in the City & came over to uncover such a clever blog...only to discover my friend Carla has also left a comment (without my knowledge). What a small world!
Love the idea girls:)
Thanks so much! For the link love and the encouragement!
Love, A&P
