If I Could, I Would...

Lust-Have #28

Dr. Hauschka lipstick $23.95

Not the cheapest lipstick on the market, but for good reason. This lovely lippy is totally pure and natural. Most commercial i.e. corporate branded lipsticks have varying levels of gunk in them. (Lead, anyone?) Not these beauties. At this time of year, when we are all working so hard to quite putting junk in our mouths, why not take it a step further and quite putting junk on our mouths? Ladies? Are you with me?

Oh, but again, since I can't, could you?

Love, P

Oh I totally agree with you and have used Hauschka for a number of years. The price is high but so much info has come out about all the bad stuff in commercial lipstick.
Thanks for letting everyone know to be careful what they put on their lips.
Hauscka is expensive but lasts a good long time and the colors are very pretty!

Hello ladies,

I saw this post a few days ago and felt compelled to reply. Years ago, I became aware of toxic ingredients in commercial cosmetics, so I started investigating organic and "natural" brands. I thought that by shopping at health food stores, my safety was assured. How wrong I was.

Unfortunately, many of Dr Hauschka's ingredients are just as toxic - even carcinogenic - as department store brands. You can read about the ingredients and hazards of two of the colours (01 - Amoroso, and 11 - Effectuoso) by typing in "Hauschka" below.

This is the most accurate database of cosmetic ingredients available. You can read about hundreds of well-known brands and thousands of products.

Even though we ingest make-up and skin care through our pores (and mouths!), the FDA has turned a blind eye to banning ingredients. Be informed, be well, ladies.
