New To Me

HNY! Things seem quite fuzzy today for me as it is the start of the New Year and I was out being festive last night. Images of champagne, fireworks and headdresses (don't ask) have been floating through my brain all day.

Anyway, I just wanted to let all of you know that I survived New Year's Eve without buying a new dress and I dare you to try the same, whether it is for a wedding, your birthday, or a cocktail party. I actually debuted TWO things last night from my wardrobe that had not yet been seen by the public. The dress (see inset "morning after" picture) was purchase two years ago and I hadn't worn it yet because I thought it required "too much effort". I am not exactly sure what that means, but I know every time my hand brushed by it in my closet that was the first thing that came to mind. Even when I was getting ready last night I almost swapped it out for my trusted little black cocktail dress, but then decided that taking a small risk would garner far more interesting results than wearing the LBD, whether these results were positive or negative. I did receive beaucoup de compliments so I would say that it was a hit!

The second never been worn before item was a sassy pair of black Ferragamos purchased just before we began Fashion Rehab. I have to admit that I enjoyed the thrill of putting them on for the first time and showing them off! It is crazy to think that if I were shopping right now those little guys may never have seen the light of day (or night, as it were).

Now if I could just get over my hangover.
