Sunglasses Showdown - video #3

A recent assessment of my sunglasses collection led me to the following thought:

After nine months of not shopping, is it possible that I still will be able to justify buying something new (come May 15th) no matter what the circumstance? Or, has this retail break taught me that not every item you own can be perfect and sometimes you just need make do with what you have?

I would assume it will probably be a mix of both, but luckily - if not shopping for 3 more months could be considered lucky - I still have time to figure it out. Check out the video below and let me know what you think!

Hey Alison.
Definitely legit to get yourself a new pair May 15!!
but I really like the last pair so I would just use them --until the new day dawns.

Thanks, for this video... okay, watching this made me take a good look at myself. I am the wrong person who should be saying anything since i own a whopping 23 pairs of designer sunglasses. So, of course my first knee jerk reaction to you is BUY them, but realistically, if you seriously would like to buy a pair then do so, but maybe you could donate the other pairs to someone in need (i.e. abused women shelters who need a pick me up)... i don't know this is just a suggestion, if you find it lame, I am soooo sorry... BTW, love your website, I am going back to the beginning and reading all your blogs (vlogs)... I am addicted to something else now!

I am so glad other people think it is legit if I buy a new pair after Rehab is over! I think that is an amazing suggestion to donate any of the unworn glasses. There is an organization called "Dress for Success" that helps underprivileged women trying to enter the workforce look and feel good about themselves which I thought could be a good fit. P and I have talked a lot about how at the end of the year if there are still things we have that are unworn we would like to either donate them or host some kind of fundraiser.
Thanks for your support, ladies! Love, A

Yes, you deserve a new pair. Donate the others to Value Village (or local charity shop equivalent) and then you will avoid the guilt of putting them into landfill.

Also, as a DIE HARD fan of oversized sunnies, I have to say that I don't think yours are REMOTELY over-the-top! :) Hang on to them-- the giant, Jackie O style of sunglasses is a classic and you won't be sorry you've kept them, even if you only wear them occasionally. I love the way a huge pair of sunglasses can make a girl feel glamourous, don't you?

Be sure to post and let us know what you bought once rehab is over!

I totally agree about the oversized sunglasses, I love them and they truly are a classic! I will not be getting rid of those but when it comes time I will donate the the sporty ones and the aviators. I found and glued one more stud on the Burberry's and the look ok so I will roll with those for a while.
I have seen some smaller sunglasses in the mags right now, some cat eye shapes, not sure how I feel about those! Perhaps not as flattering as the oversized? We will def keep everyone in the know about our post-rehab purchases!

I love the oversized pair and would never classify them as ridiculous! The aviators look great, too, but I know the whole scratched-lenses thing is annoying. I say, onward with the oversized pair, but a new pair in a style/frame you have zero issues with should definitely not be out of the question, either, once the time comes!

I love that all of us fashionistas can agree- oversized is fabulous! Thanks, Carla! Love, A

When you are as stunningly gorgeous as you are, any pair looks great. However, scratchy glasses are a PITA to wear.
