Shiny happy people laughing. Shiny happy people holding hands. Shiny happy people everywhere! You may think I witnessed these joyful jubilant creatures at the park, the beach, or some other natural wonder, but in actuality I saw them when I was "shopping" with my mom. People really do appear to be quite blissful when they are in a state of consumption.

Union Square, San Francisco
My mom and I have always loved to shop together. This is the second time that she has been here since Fashion Rehab began (read about our first adventures here) and she had a few missions to take care of in Union Square. She wanted to find a dress for my brother's wedding, along with a pair of shoes to match, and a couple of things for Baby E. My mom accomplished these goals with gusto! At the end of the day we left downtown San Francisco with a dress, 4 pairs of shoes (2 for her, 2 for the baby), and a few other odds and ends. I was really happy for her! On the outside. Inwardly I was... crying like a baby. If only those people shopping just hadn't looked so darn happy!
There were groups of girls gleefully trying on pumps and platforms, husbands happily grabbing their wives extra sizes in ill-fitting dresses, and friends marveling over "much-needed" accessories. The sunglasses department? Oh, don't even get me started. Let's just say I may have been trying on a pair of purple oversized Armani's for a bit too long. Someone may have had to wrestle them out of my hands! I wonder if I would have even noticed anyone around me if I had been the one shopping? Probably not. I probably would have been lost in my own world, mesmerized by all of the spring colors, and searching the sale racks for cute finds.
Have you had any not so good shopping moments lately? Have there been any times when you thought that shopping seemed like a drag and that you really wished you were doing something else? Now that we have entered our last two months of Fashion Rehab, I feel like I may need a little extra support to make it through to the end. Maybe if I heard about some of your frustrating shopping experiences I wouldn't be so quick to wish I was on the other side? It all can't be rainbows and roses, right? (Or in this case, I guess it would be pumps and party dresses?)
Love, A

Well Alison I can't really recommend that horrible sick feeling when you've spent too much money. Maybe you want to sign up for another year so that you don't have to experience that misery. lol!!
