I know without a doubt that I will be purchasing some kind of handbag when this project is over. My everyday bags admittedly have seen better days. I am very guilty of "over-stuffing" when it comes to my purses and unfortunately that can cause even greater wear in shorter periods of time. Will it be Gucci? Something in my heart (or my bank account) tells me no. Regardless, I am on the hunt for a new tote and am seeking your advice. I have been eyeing this absolutely adorable Rebecca Minkoff cross-body bag for awhile now but it really is only big enough for a phone, wallet, and keys. Great for days when I am sans baby, but let's be real, when does that ever happen?
These are the qualities that this "bag-to-be" must posses: it must be leather, big enough to carry a large pouch full of baby related items (kind of like the size of a big ziplock bag), room for phone, wallet, tiny makeup bag, and it needs to be in a classic color (or print) in black, grey, or brown. What do you suggest? These are four of my top picks, what do you think?

Olivia Harris Knotted Washed Leather Satchel, both from Saks
Oh, and if you don't like any of them how do you feel about me waiting it out for the Gucci? Should I stalk every outlet and sample sale in the country in hopes of finding that dream bag over the next few post-rehab months? Will my "problems" be solved, or if I do end up buying one, will I move onto another obsession? Help!

Hi A:
I am leaning towards, buying the bag that you truly want. I have made the mistake over and over again for settling just because I wanted it now and I was itching to spend. I have lately come to believe that "good things come to those who wait". I cannot tell you what to do, I wouldn't tell anyone what to do, but my opinion is that as soon as you buy one of the bags above, bam, your Gucci sample sale will come up and then what do you do??? run into the habit of buying another bag just because Gucci was on sale... then the cycle begins.
Good luck A, by the way, the bags above are wonderful and they are all so stylish..If you must buy one then the Chloe one is PERHAPS the way to go...

The See By Chloe one is definitely cute. I can truly 100% say that it would be as close to a Chloe that I would ever get!
Also so true about the Gucci situation. There are so many things that I currently own, too, that were bought as replacements for what I really wanted. Some have gone unworn and unused, making it just an extreme waste of money.
I think it is one of those things where I just need to assess my own reality. At this stage in my life is a bag that expensive something that can be justified? Or is it something I work towards, equating the purchase of it with my own career or financial success? Ahh, shopping. Who knew it could be so complex?

They're all lovely bags! My personal favorite is the See by Chloe one, The leather also looks incredibly soft. I've fallen in love with the PS1 bag. I'm gonna wait for a whole year to see whether my love for it is still strong (and of course, so I can save). I've done a Luella impulse purchase not long ago which I now regret :(, So make sure to take your time!
Thanks for the advice, Pixie! That seems to be the consensus, slow and steady wins the race, a hasty purchase can be filled with regret. Sorry about your Luella : (
