Empire State Of Mind

In case you hadn't already figured it out, I had the most amazing time in NYC. So fun that I can't even believe it is over. Which may explain why I am still talking about it. I may have even shed a tear or two while watching the season finale of Gossip Girl this past week—not just because of the tragic story of Chuck and Blair—but because P and I were lucky enough to have stayed at the Empire Hotel, the current faux residence of Mr. Bass himself, and it made me sad. I wish life could be that joyous and carefree all of the time.

P and I chowing down on some 'za after a "grueling" day of shopping!

I wanted to share with you a few a few highlights from our trip before we launch into "Season 2" of Fashion Rehab... (You didn't think we would just shut this whole thing down, did you?) We caught up with old friends, made fabulous new ones, ate at Bobby Flay's Bar Americain (Mr. Flay was not there, so sad!), drank more Bloody Mary's in 5 days than I drank in all of 2009, ate the BEST slices of real New York Pizza (ya just don't get that stuff on the west coast), had our makeup done, lunched at Fred's in Barney's, and basically just got caught up with each other. These experiences are what made the trip so incredibly unbelievable, not the purchases!

P and I at Bar American. Have you ever seen two happier people? And we hadn't even started shopping yet...

Hanging outside "The Big G". Oh, what a day!

Here is where I spout off a few words of wisdom that I have learned throughout this process. After all, I am a rehab survivor (albeit "fashion rehab") but a survivor none the less! It is very easy to get caught up in the drama and importance of our day-to-day lives while forgetting to take that much needed break from all of it, for both your sanity and your spirit. Life is way too short not to spend it doing things you love. Or to spend time with those you love. So next time you say there isn't enough time or money or babysitters (or whatever the case) t0 take that girls getaway you have always been dreaming of, think of us here at 365 Fashion Rehab, and take the plunge. You won't regret it.

Love, A

well said, it's so difficult to arrange a girls trip now that all my girlies and I have very hectic schedule :(

it's great to see you girls had a blast on your break!
