The Lady in the Louboutins

Here is a video mini-montage of my first post-Fashion Rehab purchase. I know it is not a surprise (at least not after we Tweeted and Facebook-ed it all over the place!), but truthfully, even I didn't know what my first purchase was going to be until well into our dinner Friday night at Bar Americain. Even after trying them on at Saks on Friday, I took quite a bit of time thinking and wondering if the Loubs were for me. It was only after all the reflection that I realized I couldn't stop thinking about them. I had my answer.

Now, you should know that these beauts were not technically my first purchase... (Long story: The Mater very sweetly gave me a Congratulations-you-survived-Fashion-Rehab-gift which I picked up at Bloomie's 1st thing Saturday morning - it was on sale, the last one in the store, closer to the hotel, etc...), but in my heart my Louboutins will always be my (unofficial) first purchase because I lusted after them for sooooo long!

After a year in Fashion Rehab, I have earned my first pair of red soles, the presence of mind to know exactly what I want, the courage to pay for quality (that part was hard - but I had help there, too. Thanks, Mr. Darling!) and the wisdom to know the difference... between disposable impulse spending and throwing down for a classic investment piece (or in this case, pieces?).

Even if it is covered in patent leather.

Love, P

P.S. Thanks to all of you who have commented/emailed asking us to keep the blog going post-Fashion Rehab! We plan on doing just that and are putting the finishing touches on "Season 2" as we speak... So stay tuned!

Thanks, Asteria! I am happy to say I feel no buyer's remorse whatsoever! Just excitement thinking of all the places I'll wear them in the future. I really do love the Carnival ones that I posted a few weeks ago when trying to decide, but I know now that the black were fully the way to go! Plus, the patent gives them a little kick (no pun intended!)
