365 Fashion Rehab at the IFB Conference

Earlier this month, I had the extreme pleasure of attending the Independent Fashion Blogger's conference during Fashion Week in NYC. Sadly, my BFF and Rehab Sister, A could not attend - distance and a toddler making it impossible to get away for the mere 48 hours that I got to spend in the Big Apple.

It was the first time I have been to a conference of my peers and, if I'm right, I think it may have only been the second time that IFB has put one on. As I mentioned in 36 hours and Only One Place To Go, I was really excited to hear some of the speakers, but no one more than Emily from Cupcakes & Cashmere. Her blog is gorgeous and totally fabulous and now I know why. Emily said in her presentation that she is meticulous to a fault, sometimes editing as many as 100 photos from one shoot. But it's all worth it when you see her lovely website and beautiful photos. I am also really excited to say that I got to meet Emily and she is just as lovely as her photos.

Another highlight (and one of the biggest surprises) from the day was the amazing and authentic Gala Darling. She really is the real deal and it was inspiring to not only hear someone tell you to be true to yourself, but even more so to hear it from someone who actually is. Do yourself a favour and check out her website. She walks the walk.

Gala Darling - she legally changed her name so it says Gala Darling on her license!

I also got to meet some fantastic people. Without one of them, this post would be a helluva lot more boring. Thanks to Miss B for all the photos in this post! She's not just handy with the cam, this one, she has an adorable blog of her own, called Just B, which is well worth a look.

I am so glad I got to go and am already looking forward to the next one. Hopefully, A will be able come too, and we can return to the scene of the crime!

Love, P

P.S. I was really good about the shop-shop while I was in New York/Brooklyn, but I did snag a few deals. Wanna know what they were?

Ah, I so wish that I could have attended IFB this year; but alas, school and the fact that I'm in Southern California got in the way! I'm so glad to hear that you had a good time!! :)
