The Fashion Pit - Jeremy Scott S/S 2011
Every once in a while something shows up on the runway that just begs to be written about. Last summer it was the Alexander Wang Bianca Vest Bag, today it is the Jeremy Scott prosciutto bikini top and skirt. Oh yes, you heard right. Prosciutto as in the ham-like cured meat from abroad. The ensemble actually isn't made of pork, but the pieces look so real that I found myself wanting to accessorize the outfit with a baguette and a slice of Manchego cheese. This dress, from designer Jeremy Scott, debuted at New York Fashion Week last Thursday just days after Lady Gaga wore her very real meat ensemble to the MTV Awards. Wait a sec, you didn't hear about that? We here at 365FR love the Gaga but really, a dress made out of raw beef? And shoes, too? Please, please, the line must be drawn somewhere! (Click the "read more" link below for a photo of Gaga in her sirloin.)

Ugh.

Not a fan of the Jeremy Scott prosciutto bikini top and skirt, but i guess to each is there own. But really Gaga, the smell of real meat just sitting there rotting so NOT a fan.
Clothing made out of raw meat is offensive. period.
A. Co, your comment says it all! I have to agree with both anony comments, too. I am not a vegetarian but I feel like it crosses the line for those who do not eat meat for spiritual or ethical reasons. Why should they (and of course the rest of us) be exposed to such insanity? Gaga said she was doing it in protest of the "don't ask, don't tell" motto of the army in regards to speaking out about sexual orientation, but I am sure there are more effective ways of speaking out against that issue. Oh, the politics of it all! Love, A
