Lust or Must? Delia's Tie-Dye Maxi Skirt

Photobucket

Let me preface today's "Lust or Must?" with this statement: Hippie or Boho Chic is generally not my style. Then why, you ask, am I considering buying an item that not only embraces a 70's flower child print but also a silhouette from that decade, too? Well, I am trying to expand the range of my wardrobe by going beyond my usual neutral palette of classically cut or body-con pieces. Initially I thought I would just buy this skirt in black, but then I thought about how cute this print would look with flat sandals, a white tank, and a long layered necklace.

So ladies and gents, what say you? Remain a minimalist, or embrace the love child within?

Love, A

Go big or go home. For printed short skirts or long black skirt, you can find them any time at any price any where. If you are going for the maxi trend, get a print so you don't have to think about the rest of the outfit and it still looks fun.

Personally, I think black skirt/dress is such a killjoy in great summer weathers (unless its a business formal event).

The Skirt is so cute... I am a 70s chic (whenever I can) so I always have one like this on my closet but, at this time of the year you may find it for less than $44.
Still cute.

I voted "lust" but not b/c I think black is better. I just think, for something this trendy, even CHEAPER is better. Hit H&M or (gasp!) Sirens for a $10 version in a bright print that looks just as good. Then you won't feel bad a) for wearing it only one season, b) if it turns out to be too far out of your comfort zone to get much wear.

Very excited to see how many people were into the skirt.
YYZ - I appreciate the tip on the super cheap version because also with a skirt that is so bold it is not something you would wear everyday so you don't want to spend too much.
RAW - Love your honesty!
I am still on the fence about the whole thing...I may consider it if it ever stops raining. Love, A

I like this particular one, but I do agree you could probably get in on the trend for less. That being said, I love Delia's and Alloy (owned by the same people. I just never stopped shopping with them since I started in Junior High. they have really great extended sizes.

Bisous,

Julia
