Lust or Must - Lacoste Nylon Tote

Photobucket

Shoulder Bags by Lacoste at ShopStyle

Sadly, after almost a week of beautiful weather, the weatherman is calling for five full days of rain (ugh). But it got me thinking that I don't have a good bag for a rainy day. I need a new non-leather carrier and I'm not necessarily talking about running around in a downpour, just not freaking out about water marks on my bag if I get caught in a spring shower.
(Who's kidding who? With this latest forecast, chances of that happening are hight. Double ugh.)
I have a great grey faux leather bag (A and I have the same one) but I've used it so much it's finally falling apart. I thought this could be a good replacement (it's $95). I love the pop of brilliant color though I'm on the fence about the alligator...

Thoughts?

Love, P

It is a great color, but if you're on the fence about the alligator, I say pass. It's too recognizable a symbol to wear if you don't love it.

1. Orange is ABSOLUTELY a neutral-- I have always said so and I treat it as such, so I think you will be totally successful in using it that way. I think using a bright as a neutral is one of the things that shows confidence and sets a girl apart from the crowd.
2. I love that bag, but you KNOW I am gonna tell you to check out Winners before you pay the $95 for it! H&M also does great, non-leather bags.

Keep us posted!

The orange comment seems off for a bag specifically designed for rainy days. I have a leopard print rain coat just to perk me up on days I'm wearing neutrals and dealing with gray weather.

I voted lust not because of the color. Nowhere in the bag's description did it say water proof or even water resistant. It is just like any other lined brightly colored nylon bag.

I do think a brightly colored everywhere/beach/casual fabric bag is a must in the summer. I vote for getting a cheaper one <$40 so you are not afraid of throwing it in the washing machine when dirty and not feeling guilty when you want a different color bag next summer.

The colour is really fun, but I have to agree with the brand comments. Unless you're in love with it...

Why pay extra money for a brand you're not head-over-heels for? I'm sure there are plenty of less expensive orange bags out there looking for a good home.

That bag is too cute... it would be great not only for rainy days, but the summer as well! Bright, funky colours are definitely a must-have for your summer wardrobe.
