Lust or Must? Catherine Manuell Luggage Set

Photobucket

Catherine Manuell 2-piece luggage set $399

Continuing on my travel theme from last week, I thought it would be fitting to post a more, shall we say, appropriately priced luggage option. Plus, this set seems to be made for a fashion rehabber like moi since the pattern is an almost perfect match for our logo! But, if I do take the plunge, the only remaining question is: Will it arrive before I take off for the Independent Fashion Blogger's conference?

If I Were a Rich Girl... Jimmy Choo Shoe Bag

Jimmy Choo Shoe Case (gulp) $2,295 from Net-a-Porter
Yes, yes, I know the price is obscene. I mean, truly, madly, deeply obscene.
But, this is the little corner of our blog where we get to dream, and A and I are pretty big dreamers! After all, we conjured up this crazy project, didn't we? (Though dream vs. nightmare is obviously debatable!)
Nonetheless, this "shoe bag" is playing a starring role in my fantasy travel scenario (I mean, just look at that lining!). It's especially timely since I'm getting ready to pack my own, markedly less glamorous bags for a trip to Cali to visit my Rehab Survivor Sister!
But, I am certain that seeing A's face will bring me just as much joy as this ridiculous/amazing "shoe bag" would - probably more!

Closets & Cocktails with Jewelry Designer (and Blogger!) Wendy Brandes

For this week's installment of Closets and Cocktails we are so excited to be featuring one our fave jewelry designers and bloggers, Wendy Brandes. This journalist-turned-jewelry-designer can be found musing about everything from 80's pop culture to the best in vintage finds on her blog. Her re-occurring feature "What Wendy Wore" is not to be missed! (Anyone who actually owns Alexander McQueen is a superstar in our books!) Not only is her jewelry to-die-for (see P's post If I Were A Rich Girl featuring one of Wendy's fab designs), she does custom pieces as well! Engagement ring, anyone? So without further adieu, a few insights into Wendy's fashion philosophies and closet confessions...

Wendy with her fave cocktail (or more accurately, a bottle of her favorite cocktail...) Rosé Champagne

What is your style motto? "Wear What You Want."

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? It would be bigger!

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? That changes from day to day. Right now I love 80's Joan Jett. Leather and heavy eyeliner.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? My vintage Ossie Clark snakeskin jacket. He gave it to an employee in lieu of cash many years ago, and I bought it directly from her. (More about the jacket here)

What is your greatest shopping regret? Always something I DIDN'T buy.

What do you consider your greatest score? My sex-ay pilgrim dress is Donald Brooks couture. I got it on eBay for $60.

Lust or Must? Vince Camuto Cosa Bootie

Photobucket

There are still some (hopefully many!) hot days left in the summer but when it comes to my wardrobe I like to plan ahead. And I love a good sale. With that in mind I can't help but dream about what I will be wearing once the weather changes. Strangely, I seem to have a gap in my "shoe-drobe" in the bootie department. I am usually much more of a tall boot or pump kind of girl, but sometimes the ankle bootie is just soooo essential. I love the 70's vibe of these Camutos and am totally into the peep toe. (Very suitable for Northern Cali almost any time of the year!)

So what's the word? Lust? Or Must?

Closets & Cocktails with the girls from Wanderlust

A & I are super psyched because for this week's Closets & Cocktails, we are featuring our very first BFF bloggers, the girls from WanderLust! Abigail and Emily are the best of friends - they must be since they share so much (like this marvy green Alexander Wang cape we've heard so much about)! I actually had the pleasure of meeting them, albeit briefly, at the Independent Fashion Blogger's Conference last year. They were absolutey lovely. But my favorite thing about these girls - apart from their marvy photo? They'll always be more hero than villain to me. So, without further adieu, a few insights into Abigail & Emily's fashion philosophies and closet confessions...

What is your style motto? Be yourself.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? If we could change one thing about our closets (coat, shoe, rolling rack and 2 clothing closets), it would be to make them all ONE giant one! Carrie Bradshaw style.

Who's style, past or present do you most admire? We most admire the styles of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

What is your most treasured posession in your closet? Our most treasured possession would have to be a

Lust or Must? - J Crew Wedges

Photobucket
J Crew wedges $90 (down from $150)

I have noticed over the past few months that even after an entire year in Fashion Rehab I still have one or two (embarrassing) holes in my closet. One of them is a glaring lack of dressy summer shoes. Pumps - of the closed-toe variety - I have, flats, I have, flip flops, (lord knows!) I have. But when my sis, The Cupckae Kid and I were getting ready for a night at the theater during their visit (thanks to my Pa), I had an incredibly hard time finding shoes to wear! I did make the uber smart purchase of a pair of nude Nine West wedges earlier this season which I have worn a zillion times and LOVE, but nothing whatsoever in black!
My only hesitation with these is the lighter colored sole...
What do you think?

Closets & Cocktails with On the Racks

This week, A and I could not be more thrilled than to be featuring the ever lovely Laura from one of our favorite blogs On the Racks! I love reading everyone's Closets & Cocktails entries because I am certain to find something in common with these marvy people! In this case, Laura and I share an unyielding love of the slash. Like Laura, I too am a mad sale shopper (it's a bit like a mad style scientist). I think part of my disease is just competing with myself over my most amazing score! Tory Burch gold flats for $70? Check! Topshop wool and leather clog boots from $160 down to $16? (You heard me!) Check! A vintage mint condish YSL Rive Gauche blazer for 9.99? CHECK!!!! I can't stop! I CAN'T stop!!! 365 Fashion Rehab - where are yooooouuuuu??? Also, if I had to guess, I'd say that Laura's most overused phrase might be: "I got the most amazing pair of shoes on sale today..." (Full disclaimer: we have never met in person.) So, without further adieu a few insights into Laura's fashion philosophies and closet confessions...

The lovely Laura from On the Racks, in her closet with her favorite cocktail (champagne - yummy!) and an adorable furry friend

What is your style motto? Always dress for yourself, and don't be afraid to mix and match!

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? It would be BIGGER! And more space for shoes. :)

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? I love Kate Moss, Edie Sedgewick and Emma Watson. All for very different reasons, but I think they're amazing.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? A fur coat that my grandma gave me. I'm kind of anti-fur, and would never buy one myself, but the thought of my grandma walking around in it makes it super glamorous and special to me.

What is your greatest shopping regret? I'm not sure if I have any shopping regrets. I am not a very picky shopper, and I typically am pretty happy with all my purchases. I think you can find a way to wear almost anything (even kind of ugly things), if you get creative!

What do you consider your greatest score? I am a mad sale shopper, and buy almost everything on sale.

Lust or Must? Helene Berman Trilby Hat

Photobucket

I currently have a fedora, a pageboy and a beach hat, but I don't own anything cute that can be worn everyday that will shade my face. My fedora, which I love, covers my forehead but nothing else. (Why do they make the brims so small?) I spend a lot of time outside and have noticed that despite wearing SPF 50, my skin still soaks up those damaging UV rays. I love a tan but loathe the wrinkles that come with it!

This adorable Helene Berman hat is neutral but stylish, and has an amazing elongated brim. So, what's the word? Am I a disillusioned fashionista just making excuses to shop? Or is this Lust really a Must?

Love, A
