Reflections of a Shopaholic - A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words (Roughly)

Do you resemble the girl in this photo? If not akin to her body type, then perhaps you have her style? Truthfully, I couldn't feel further away from this image than if it were a picture of Will Ferrell dressed in drag. Ironically, I do own skinny black pants, sexy black heels, a great black tote (not fur, but still fab), and an oversized gold Michael Kors watch. I also have a few gold (plated) cuffs and a simple black long-sleeve shirt as pictured above, yet my everyday ever-so-casual ensembles are the complete antithesis of what this girl is wearing. (I was unknowingly wearing my t-shirt inside out this morning until my 3-year-old pointed it out...) The last time I looked close to this snazzy (in the daylight) I was sans les bébés!

Seriously, do you know where this fab fashionista is headed because my life seems so drab in comparison! Please tell me! Lunch with a girlfriend? A casting call? How about Paris? How can something as simple as a photo have me questioning my entire existence, leaving me wondering if I should throw in my diaper bag and flats and rack up my credit card for a fantasy life that doesn't even exist? I guess that's advertising for you!

Any unresolved questions about my former shopping habits seem so clear in moments like these - no wonder P and I were shopaholics! Skinny women dressed in black, sporting stylish handbags draped in gold, make me want to shop. There, I said it! (And I bet Michael Kors knows it.) The only difference now (post rehab) is that during these fleeting moments of envy and uncertainty I have a year of real retail therapy (as in the kind where you don't shop) under my belt. Now I have such an acute sense of what I own and a greater sense of self, that a glitzy ad campaign won't be the reason I hand over my savings for the latest and greatest. It doesn't, however, stop me from wanting to be decked out in Michael Kors head to toe, it just makes me appreciate the little things a whole lot more. (Like being out of the red, for example).

Lust or Must? Nixon Time Teller Rubber Watch

A lemon colored watch! How beautiful! In these drab days of winter this little gem seems like the perfect pick-me-up. I own a lovely Michael Kors watch (which I dutifully pined over for a year and a half before taking the plunge) but despite all its gilt and glory it is not appropriate for every occasion. Do I wear it to yoga? Not so much. Is it proper attire for the elliptical? Not really. In those sporty moments my arm is bare. Yes, totally bare! And alas, the clock on the wall of the gym or the digital display on my phone just don't hold a flame to this trendy timepiece.

This watch is sunny, delightful and positively perfect for those days when you want to rock your Lululemons not your Louboutins. So I guess the big question is would a $10 imitation fill the void, or for a few extra dollars (read $50) does this Nixon deserve a place in my wrist candy rotation?

The Day I Met the Missonis

This story takes place in early autumn 2011. All the events and anecdotes are completely true. No one's names have been changed. This was one of the highlights of 2011 for me and I'd like to share it with you.

Sarah May and I had arrived in NY just two days earlier, coming to town for the IFB Conference (read more about that here), and having only one day left before heading back across the border, we had a serious pow-wow weighing various options of how to spend our last day and night. We were staying in Brooklyn so we had to decide: would we be coming back for dinner or when we hit the city in the morning would we need to be prepared to stay well into the eve (i.e. what to bring, what not to bring and outfits that would [or wouldn't!] be able to go from day to night, natch) and, once on the isle of Manhattan, where would we go and what would we do? In a city with endless possibilities, we were momentarily immobilized by the sheer wealth and breadth of choice. Plus, it was Fashion's Night Out which we knew we wanted to attend, but added a whole other level of where to go at what time and with whom. There were only two things I knew for sure: since it was Sarah's first time in NYC (and since I am a former resident) I felt it was my duty to show her the best time possible and 2) I really wanted to go to the Missoni for Target pop-up shop in Bryant Park. I had been lusting over practically the entire collection (as had most people!) and the chance to get a sneak peek was too tantalizing to turn down.

After our brief tete-à-tete, we concluded that first and foremost we were hungry! We took the train over and up to my old subway stop at 66th & Broadway. Perfect, really since the tents for fashion week now live at Lincoln Center. We breezed down the sun filled, super wide sidewalks, ducking into one of my fave hotels The Empire (the site of this epic moment) so I could show Sarah the sumptuous art deco lobby. There were people everywhere and we almost (literally) bumped into Erin Wasson who was coming out as we were going in. It's Fashion Week y'all and when you're right across the street from the tents you're bound to come face to face with a supermodel or two. On we ventured in search of food and found it not too far from the hotel in the form of the quintessential New York diner. We had burgers with french fries and coleslaw, seltzer with ice and watery coffee. And pickles! (Don't even get me started on the pickles!)

When we could eat no more, we paid our lovely, diminutive waiter and headed clear down Broadway all the way to Times Square. Seeing Times Square live and in person is quite a sight. And seeing with someone who has never seen it before (and who is one of your closest friends) is a very near second. It is not an exaggeration to say I felt lucky to be by her side and honored to have been the one to take her there first. To cap off this lovely moment, we even caught a glimpse of a few sailors, enabling Sarah to snap this photo and making our visit truly complete.

We banged a left at 42nd street bound for Bryant Park. There aren't many things I'll wait in line for, life is just too short, but Sarah and I agreed Missoni for Target would be worth the wait, provided it wasn't unbearably long. When we arrived, incredibly there were only about 25 people there. Sarah looked at me with a wide grin and said, "Are we doing this? I mean, I think we're doing this!" We took our places, strategized our route once inside, prioritized what were our #1's (for me it was a scarf, Sarah a shift dress) and gave thanks many times over that it wasn't cold and/or raining.

The two+ hours we waited went by surprisingly fast (due, in part, to the fact that we made friends with a group of incredibly nice girls ahead of us in line who fed us cupcakes!) and before we knew it, we were moving! Divide and conquer was our strategy. The super chic and ever lovely Adele (from the Fashionista Lab) had come to meet us and we all agreed - whatever you get, grab three!

It wasn't quite the psychotic madhouse I thought it would be, the real issue was the heat. Even though it was September and a beautiful, temperate day outside, it was positively sweltering in that place. I mean, really quite unbearable. The heat didn't slow people down and it was still pretty mental. Racks of clothes seemed to disappear into thin air. One minute they were full, the next empty save for one or two XXLs swinging on their hangers as though gale force winds had blown through and they were the only ones strong enough to hang on.

I don't remember all the items I grabbed, but I distinctly remember knowing when I'd had enough. "I've got enough," I thought to myself, "A few pieces is all I need and this heat is stifling." Pre-365FR I think it's quite possible I would have been behaving like a total animal in there, but I wasn't. At all. This came a a bit of a shock but, in truth, I was thrilled. We had gotten in in the first wave, I had three or four items in my hands, I was good. I felt completely satisfied. As per our POA (plan-of-action), I headed straight for the checkout line, scanning left and right for any sign of Adele or Sarah. Unbelievably, they had braved the dressing rooms (and got major fashion girl props from me for doing so) and as I inched my way closer the cash, I saw them scurrying out from behind the curtains towards me. After making our edits and sharing our extras, Sarah passed over her chosen items and her wallet, saying she'd meet me at the end of the line. (Adele, brave girl that she is, headed back into the fray, boldly going up the stairs to where the housewares and luggage - or what remained of them - were housed.) Finally it was my turn at the register and the very nice girl standing behind it offered her congratulations. "Oh yeah," I said, smiling proudly, "I'm so happy we got in!" "No," she said, "You're a winner in our contest: the first 100 people to spend over $100 get to have their photo taken with Margherita and Angela Missoni. Congratulations, you're #100!"

Stupefied from the waiting and the heat and by what she just said to me, I had to ask her kindly to repeat herself. Even then, I couldn't quite believe it. In my fashionista heart, I had already won. I had gotten in, I had gotten my beautiful scarf (which I grabbed off a mannequin and I am pretty sure was the only one in the building), Sarah had gotten not one but two dresses and I still managed to stay upright in my six-inch high Jeffrey Campbell platforms. I was already a winner - this was too much!!! All these thoughts were swirling in my mind as I was shuffled down a line that ended at bona fide fashion royalty. Okay, this is really going to happen, I thought to myself. I am going to meet two generations of one of the most prestigious fashion houses in the world. Okay, deep breath. Italian! Do I know any Italian??? Think, girl, think! Ummm...grazi, prego, tavola... That's ridiculous! I can't say "Thank you for the table", I'll sound like an idiot! Then I was next (and also, last). I walked over and they both smiled with genuine warmth (a remarkable and lovely feat considering they'd already done it 99 times). I shook their hands and managed to say "Grazie mille" - a thousand thank-yous. We had our photo taken, they shook my hand again, smiled again and I was out into the beautifully fresh, cool air feeling like the luckiest little reformed shopaholic in the world.

A'S Picks...for Presents Under the Tree

Wouldn't it be great if Santa's workshop was in Bergdorf's and he delivered gifts to those of us over the age of twelve? Because even though I have been on my absolute best behavior this year, I don't think a new pair of boots (let alone three) are in my family budget! I also am currently loving all things red and am drooling over this Kate Spade wallet! How about those sparkly diamond earrings? Simply gor-geous. This all seems like a pipe dream, but with the holidays in mind, I think a little wishful thinking - and sometimes a wee bit of indulging - is just what the doctor ordered.

The 5 W's - Alexis Bittar Cuff

A few weeks ago, I had the extreme pleasure of meeting jewellery designer Alexis Bittar. He's the au currant designer who is beloved by Cameron Diaz and who features some of the most amazing women in his ad campaigns - Lauren Hutton and Joan Collins anyone? The newest muse has yet to be revealed, but I suspect it'll be someone just as legendary... Catherine Deneuve perhaps?

Listening to Alexis talk about his journey from 13-year-old kid selling vintage jewellery in St. Marks Place in New York City to becoming one of just a handful jewllery of designers to win the CFDA Accessory Designer of the Year award was so incredibly inspiring. The fact that he is one of the kindest and most down to earth people I've ever met was the cherry on top.

After such an exhilarating meeting, I felt I simply had to have a momento, something to remind me of the depth of inspiration that he someone managed to impart that day. I immediately chose this marvy peacock bangle and every time I wear it, I'm reminded that if you're lucky enough to find your calling and you never, never lose sight of it, your dreams really can come true.

So, this post is a bit of a thank you to Alexis. Thank you for being such a committed and truly brilliant designer and, even more than that, thank you for leading by example and being such a lovely, lovely person.

Lust or Must? Sperry Top-Spider Pelican Boot

My trusty Target rain boots are on the verge of collapse and I need a new pair, stat! Although I bought my old boots for a fraction of the cost of the ones above, and they lasted for almost 5 years, I feel like I am in need of an upgrade. These Sperry's have a fleece lining (yummy) and a super cute, yet classic, print.

What do you think? Should I stick with what I know (Target and a twenty dollar bill), or take the plunge (and make a splash!) in these pretty Pelicans?

The Uniform: Brilliant or Just Plain Boring?

For those of you who don't have busy schedules, aren't on a budget, are always on time, and never feel the need to multitask, this post may not be for you. (Feel free to skip to the bottom and vote in the poll). For everyone else, please read on.

Since having two children, dressing myself has gone from being one of the best parts of my day to one of my least favorite. (Far above changing diapers but well below having my morning coffee). I have roughly twenty minutes to get ready each morning, including hair and makeup, so needless to say I am always in a rush. How is a girl supposed to look fab on that kind of time crunch? There is no time to ponder the perfect outfit, no time for creativity, and certainly no time to play dress-up. Inevitably I end up running out of time, coming up with an outfit that is either super uncomfortable, or just plain unflattering. (I am too embarrassed to tell you what I am wearing right now but I will give you a hint: it rhymes with poga yants - absolutely horrifying!)

In an effort to solve this dilemma I looked to some of the most fashionable women in history and dissected their 'drobes. I realized that they each had their own formula, a uniform if you will. Audrey Hepburn always wore a black top or dress with ballet flats, Jackie O consistently sported oversized sunglasses, pearls, and a crew neck, and Kate Moss (see photos above) often dons skinny jeans, chunky boots, and some type of faux fur coat. Creating an everyday uniform could be the answer to my problems. In my case, this uniform would be a variation of pieces that are washable (oversized cotton tops), fashionable (cute ankle or knee boots), and active-able (stretchy skinny pants for kneeling, bending, chasing, etc.). I think I would be (consistently) better dressed, and it would bring serenity to my morning routine!

So what do you think? Am I being a lazy fashionista, or am I on to something?

I have always loved brown and black together, it is very understated yet so chic. The sweater is a bit of a splurge (it is Vince, $275) but the bags are all under $15o and the belt is only $8! Reflections of a (Reformed) Shopaholic...and the Iconic 5

Giving up shopping for a year taught me more than just how to shop in my closet. It sparked my creativity, brought me closer to my best friend, and it gave me a sense of purpose in a time when money was tight and my new role of a mom was proving more challenging than I ever could have imagined. Going without also taught me that clothes don't define you, that they are merely a form of self expression (combined with an obvious practicality) and you will survive (and perhaps even thrive) without owning the latest everything. However (with a capital H), life lessons aside (this is a fashion blog after all, not a gratitude journal - though we do like to think we have a bit more to offer than your average "this is how I wore it" blog), there is one other thing that came out of my year without, and that, my friends, was a Gucci bag. I LOVE that bag. One, because I think it is so damn fabulous and two, it is a reminder of how much I sacrificed to get it.

On to my next point: I started thinking about sacrifice and wondered if there were any other iconic fashion pieces that would be worth another year in Fashion Rehab. What would you give up for one of these classics beauties? And, more importantly, which one would you choose?

Lust or Must? Gold Zara Brogues

There have been some changes to my lifestyle that have occurred, shall we say, quite quickly and I suddenly find myself in need of a great (read: stylish) pair of flats. I have to thank Man Repeller for alerting me to this gilded pair of oxfords. She put her stamp of approval on them months ago, and though I admired them at the time, they really weren't necessary for my lifestyle. Now that those particulars have changed (and the fact that they fit in with the rest of our 365FR LBC checklist - Lifestlye, Budget, Climate) I am giving them a second look. They are admittedly flashy, but could be the perfect topper (or in this case, bottom-er) to an all black (again, read: easy to put together) outfit.

The thing is, even though they're Man Repeller approved (we *heart* her), I am still a bit, I don't know, shy, I guess, about they're shininess...

(We wouldn't want any of our party dresses and platforms to go to waste, right?) So without further adieu, an insight into Natasha's fashion philosophies and closet confessions...

What is your style motto? You can never be too dressed up. I'd rather be overdressed than underdressed.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? Gosh I have a LONG list since having my daughter over a year ago. But, I'd want to organize it better first, and then dress it up to reflect my style. I have an entire walk-in closet to myself and I should take better care of it...I just wish I had more time.

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? I admire so many people's style...but if I had to pick one right now, it would be Tracee Ellis Ross. I love her mix of high/low vintage. She is definitely true to her own style and I LOVE that even though she is a celeb, she doesn't have a stylist.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? All of my clothes from India. I love finding creative ways to wear them with my Western clothes, and also as they were supposed to be worn.

What is your greatest shopping regret? I never say regrets with anything... more like I learn from my mistakes.

What do you consider your greatest score? I am always getting amazing scores at Buffalo Exchange and thrift stores! Too many to count : ) I mainly love finding vintage dresses that no one else will have at a great price that usually fit like a glove.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Gosh I used to say fabulous a lot and had to retire it...now I'd say I use "shut up!" way too much. It's basically used in response to something I can't believe, or I'm excited about...way overused!

What is your greatest extravagance? My diamond earrings that I wear almost everyday. My husband got them for me one Christmas. They are classic and will always go with everything in my closet.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? The French Martini.

HGF, Me & the IFB

Sarah May and I in the crowd at the Independent Fashion Blogger's Conference held this past September at Milk Studios, NYC

Just over a month ago, I hit the road with the ever-lovely Ms. Sarah May (vintage retailer, Fashion Matchmaker, creator of Hunt. Gather. Fashion. & our regular featured guest blogger) bound for NYC. I have done quite a lot of traveling since then, hence the delay in getting this post up, but now that I am finally back home I decided it was time to share the first part of my adventure with you!

We set off in our little mini SUV rental and took to the highways. Our destination? The Independent Fashion Blogger's Conference! I was tres excited - I love NYC (my old hometown) and early autumn is one of the absolute best times to go - and doubly so, because I would be accompanying Sarah on her inaugural visit to Gotham City!

After torrential downpours, a harrowing drive and a poor, suffering, sick Sarah, we arrived later than expected and so, headed right to bed! The next day was the IFBCon and we had to be up bright and early.

Another marvy panel! This time we got the lovely (and fellow Canadian) Coco Rocha, far right and, Ari Goldberg, CEO of Stylcaster, next to her (He was my all-time favorite of the whole day - he was great!)

Even though it was a rainy grey day and Sarah was still under the weather, the conference was a great success! I got to meet old friends (in person!), make new ones and I even got my hair and nails did!

I got to meet Wendy Brandes, jewellery designer extrodinaire and one our C&C ladies! She is wearing her famous logo dress!

Even when she's sick, she works! Maybe all work and no play is what makes you sick...?

Our trip to New York was just one of many I was lucky enough to take over the summer/early fall, and it was definitely one of my faves. Now... Sarah May and I need to get planning our next adventure. Treasure hunting, anyone?

To be completely honest I am not a huge fan of these booties. They are the obvious knockoffs of the Miu Miu ones that everyone is dying over (click here to view) but I think I am having one of those "I just don't get it" fashion moments. Perhaps they are too reminiscent of a style Gene Simmons rocked many years ago (that is a KISS reference for all of you youngins), or maybe it is one of those times where "unique" just translates as awful, not awesome. Either way, I am a skeptic.

BUT if the poll numbers below prove me wrong, I could be swayed. And for $42.50 (vs. $890 for the Miu Miu ones...) they may not be so bad after all!

What is your style motto? I live by two. First, always dress for yourself. Don't worry about what others are wearing, or what's on trend. Just wear what you love and feel great in. Second, make an effort to mix and match fast fashion with indie boutique and designer finds. It keeps your look interesting, eclectic and memorable.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? The size and level of organization. It looks photo ready now but you should've seen it a few weeks ago. Life gets busy and my closet feels the wrath.

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? My grandmother! We just celebrated her 80th birthday and she waltzed in wearing a gorgeous feather print dress and oversized Jackie O shades so nobody could see her getting teary-eyed. Her ability to evolve her style as she ages and fashion changes is something I really hope to emulate.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? Such a hard question! I'd have to say some vintage leather clutches (circa 1970) I lifted from my mom. I'm sucker for a great bag, and those are among the most rotated in my closet.

What is your greatest shopping regret? I try not to let this happen as often, but I do get sucked into buying things that aren't quite right, just because they're on a mega sale. I got a fabulous River Island brocade tulip skirt at a sample sale for next to nothing, which would've been a huge score except that they didn't have my size and I bought it anyway ... still working on that fitness regime to wiggle my way in.

What do you consider your greatest score? Vintage always brings about the best deals in my eyes. I got a silk vintage Dior scarf for $5 once.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Fabulous fabulous fabulous. Everything is fabulous. But it is, isn't it?

What is your greatest extravagance? Taking time to enjoy the pleasure of doing NOTHING. I'm always busy working on my business. hosting or attending events and taking care of my family. I wouldn't trade the busy for anything but being able to take 10 feels more indulgent than any purchase I could make these days.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? Champagne, straight up. Bubbly delicious...and fabulous!

It occurred to me, whilst playing in my closet this afternoon, that I am in want of a statement necklace. A big, fat, Gossip Girl-esque, instantly able to elevate any outfit kind of neck candy. (I just went to my beloved Go Fug Yourself in search of the perfect GG statement necklace photo and, I kid you not, I was denied! But if any of you watch the show, especially this season, you will know the neck decorations to which I refer.)

Now things being what they are (me being a reformed shopaholic) I did quite a bit of looking until I found this one. I like 95% of it. My only cause for pause is that I wonder, when shelling out a not insufficient sum of money for a piece like this, should one not hold out for something with a bit of ... color?

The Fashion Pit - Charlotte Olympia Cat-Face Wedge

I have spent the last month lusting after anything and everything found in the September issues. Fall will do that to you. Fall makes you want to shop. Fall makes you want to sell everything you own just so you can buy those coveted over-the-knee suede boots, it makes you want to spend your last twenty dollars on that so-called "perfect" red lipstick, and it can make you want to buy copious amounts of leather and fur even if you are a die-hard PETA member. Trying to be Zen about consumption and buying only what you need doesn't come as easily to this fashion rehabber as I thought it would; I still struggle with shopping on an almost daily basis! (Only now I am better at weeding through the senseless stuff but great at picking out the sensational!) Hmm...where was I? Oh, I hadn't got there yet. What I am trying to say is sometimes you shouldn't take yourself (or fashion) too seriously. All of this obsessing and the idea of keeping up with the Joneses is sometimes really just a load of BS. On that note I have a few things to say about the "shoe" below:

Charlotte Olympia Cat-Face Ankle-Strap Wedge, $895

No need to reload the page, people, your eyes do not deceive you! You are indeed looking at a $900 shoe with the face of a cat on the toe. C'est quoi? Say what? They are selling them at Bergdorf's so clearly their shoe buyer thought they were a fab-u-lous pick for this fall. I think these shoes are insane with a capital "I". The price, the cat face, and heel are beyond my comprehension. And they are complete misrepresentation of the state of affairs of 99.9% of the population. If you do have this much money to burn, please keep it you yourself.

Yesterday I was flipping through the latest J. Crew catalog and came across this Edie bag. I love the detachable strap and the leather looks quite luscious in this pecan color. Although cute, and definitely a bag I do not have in my wardrobe, I was struck by the heavy-hitting tag line beneath the photo of it in the catalog. It said "It's the Bag of a Lifetime". Wow! I thought to myself (and then out loud to P as we commiserated over it in my kitchen), that is quite a statement! It actually made me pause and wonder if it really is the bag of a lifetime. At $238 it is on the pricier side, but if it is as major as J. Crew claims it to be than that seems like a mere pittance.

P's Picks - Best Dressed from the Emmy's

I don't know how many of you tuned in to last Sunday night's airing of the 2011 Emmy Awards, but I sure did! Even though I was in the middle of an epic road trip with CB24 (that's another post for another time), both of us agreed we'd rise early Sunday morn so we would have plenty of time to hunker down in a hotel, pop some bubbly and check out some good ol' fashioned Hollywood glamour. (We had our priorities very straight, obviously.) I thought Ms. Lynch did a great job hosting and I loved the bit the ladies of comedy did when their category came up (CB24 and I were howling!), but my favorite part of the show had to be the Mad Men cameo in the opening. Though it had to have been only three minutes max, it was brilliantly written and brilliantly acted. Which brings me to the most brilliant beauty of the night - as far as I'm concerned. She didn't make an appearance in that witty sketch, but she is an integral member of the cast. And she is my pick for best dressed. (Note: all pictures below are from Go Fug Yourself one of my favorite sites of all time. Seriously. Do yourself a favour and RSS that URL toute suite!)

My favorite by far, Jessica Pare from Mad Men in a gorgeous strapless wonder by Pamela Rolland. It combines many of my favorite things like sparklies, feathers and ombre, not to mention it fits her like a dream! (I realize this may not be the best image of the dress, but I loved this photo too much not to feature it. I mean, come on! Could those two be any marvy-ier???)

This is one of my runner-ups. I love it for the color just as much as the wee cap sleeves.

Another runner-up. This dress is the perfect mix: it's unique and glamorous all at the same time and the fit is perfect for her teeny tiny (maybe a titch too teeny) frame.

And last but not least there's this:

I don't always love what LM has going on, but I do love this. It's the perfect red, the shoulders are great - very glam - and it's backless. I love, love, love a good backless dress!

The Way We Wore - Date Night Daydream

Okay, so usually the idea behind this feature, "The Way We Wore", is to showcase a complete ensemble donned by one of us here at 365 FR. But today there will be no photo of any outfit since this event (Date Night) is actually just a dream, not a reality. I wanted to show you these INSANELY AMAZING Pour La Victoire Myleene pumps that I got via a gift card courtesy of Nordstrom Rack (bless you Nordstrom Rack, bless you!) that retailed for $39. Say, what? Yes, my friends, $39! These platforms were marked down majorly (from $210) and have been dying to make their date night debut since the moment I brought them home.

But sadly there shall be no date night for me any time soon. Last weekend, my sweet, yet sensitive, four month old told us (via a hysterical meltdown with our sitter 5 minutes into our first martinis) that she wasn't ready for mommy and daddy to go out on the town... So, we have put any upcoming dating plans on the back burner until the rumblings pass. BUT if I was going anywhere, it would most certainly be in these heavenly heels, paired with skinny black pants or leather leggings, a billowy blouse and layers of chunky gold jewelry.

In in the wee hours of tomorrow morn, I will embark on what will no doubt be an epic road trip with my girl CB24. I am sorry to say, she is leaving me and moving westward to Lotus Land a.k.a. LA. There will be a massive hole in my life (and in my heart) once she is gone, but what better way to say good-bye than to spend five days in a car together driving along route 66 reminiscing about old times and dreaming about the future?

And what does a girl need for a once-in-a-lifetime early autumn asphalt adventure? The first thing that came to my mind was a classic leather jacket, but since I've been lucky enough to score not one, but two on recent treasure hunts with Sarah May and Mr. Darling, respectively, a bombin' bomber was out of the question for today's LoM. Next up was a rockin' pair of take-no-BS boots. I have been drooling over Swedish Hasbens for a few months now, but since they are regularly priced in the $400 range, drool-drenched dreams (eww) are all they have been. Then... I came across these stupendous stripers on sale for $276! A more neutral pair, either black or beige would normally be at the top of my list, but this purse-friendlier price is pretty tempting...

What is your style motto? "Make it work". Oh wait, that's Tim Gunn's motto (but I do believe in it a bit). I guess the three things I live by are: is it cute? does it have nautical stripes? and does it fit well?

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? It'd be bigger, it'd be all mine and there would be a place to organize shoes and purses better. Like Ally, I'd also have the guts to get rid of the things I love, but never wear.

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? Anyone Ally doesn't admire. Kidding. I'm all over the map - love me some Coco Chanel in trousers and nautical stripes, but I also dig Tennessee Thomas' style. I'd say I also like Rachel Bilson and Lauren Conrad (there. I admitted it. I like LC). And when it comes to hair, Anna Wintour for sure.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? My glitter Kate Spades, a DVF dress and some jewelry from Tiffany's.

What is your greatest shopping regret? There is a Marc Jacobs purse I let myself get talked out of buying and I still dream of it.

What do you consider your greatest score? I got a $500 Coach bag on sale for $150. Scratch that, it'd be the DVF dress I got for $50. That was practically a steal.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? "Awesome", "amazeballs" and "fuck" (so says my husband). I maybe say "sweet Jesus in a breadbasket" and "sweet fancy moses" a bit too often as well.

What is your greatest extravagance? Kate Spade glitter shoes. Even getting them at Marshall's was an extravagance because they are the most impractical shoes in the world. The soles are a soft leather that would instantly be ruined if I wore them outside. But I love them so much.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? A sidecar - I just don't make them at home!

What is your style motto? "Wear it like you own it." It's true that these days I am more about comfort (Stacey London would CRINGE) than style as I work out of a home office in the suburbs and am a mom to a toddler, but when I actually put in some effort, I like to raise the bar a bit and maybe raise the hemline as well. I'm into short cocktail dresses for work. This could be wrong.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? I'd get the guts to throw out things I love to look at but never, ever wear.

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? L-A (my co-blogger) could answer this for me blindfolded and halfway into a box of wine. Nicole Richie, Sienna Miller, Rachel Zoe (don't hate... you're hating aren't you?), Jessica Alba, and... I can't believe I'm saying this... Blake Lively.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? Might just be the two new BCBG dresses I bought last week. I'm wearing the kimono dress in this picture. Also love the BCBG Girls booties I bought two summers ago. Um, also any of the 6,926 pairs of leggings I own. I love me some leggings. I'd even wear Lindsay Lohan's brand if I was desperate. Ha! Desperate and Lindsay Lohan in the same sentence. Wait, is that a pun? *drinking more wine*

What is your greatest shopping regret? Does dyeing my hair fire engine red count? Cause that would be it. I handed over cash for that. So I consider that shopping. In terms of clothing, I've got to stop buying shoes I can't wear. Don't tell my husband I said that.

What do you consider your greatest score? Everything from Frenchy's. I'm lucky that my parents have a place in Digby, Nova Scotia, where the best Frenchy's is located. Frenchy's is an AWESOME second-hand clothing chain in the province. I've gotten amazing Ann Taylor skirts, Free People items and a pair of wicked Calvin Klein white pants (to name a very few).

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Every swear word in the english language. And some swear words in other languages. Also see, "Sweet Britney Spears in a bread basket".

What is your greatest extravagance? The money I laid down at Sephora and BCBG this past month. Can't write the price or I'll be writing my John Hancock on divorce papers. I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. Retail therapy is a real thing. Don't I look happy?

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? White wine - Grand Pre Muskat from Nova Scotia.

Nonetheless, this "shoe bag" is playing a starring role in my fantasy travel scenario (I mean, just look at that lining!). It's especially timely since I'm getting ready to pack my own, markedly less glamorous bags for a trip to Cali to visit my Rehab Survivor Sister!

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? If we could change one thing about our closets (coat, shoe, rolling rack and 2 clothing closets), it would be to make them all ONE giant one! Carrie Bradshaw style.

Who's style, past or present do you most admire? We most admire the styles of Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

What is your most treasured posession in your closet? Our most treasured possession would have to be a forrest green Alexander Wang hooded cape.

What is your greatest shopping regret? Our greatest shopping regret was waiting for a pair of boots to go on sale, and then they RAISED the price. Miserable.

What do you consider your greatest score? Our greatest score was at an Alexander Wang sample sale last year. We went 007 style and dominated that place.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? We've awkwardly used and abused the word blog, replacing it in every song lyric, and making bad blog jokes. "How many bloggers does it take to screw in a lightbulb? 2! One to do it and one to blog about it."

What is your greatest extravagance? Our greatest extravagance would have to be our love for all things dark and avant-garde. In other terms... to a passerby we may appear more villain than hero. :)

I have noticed over the past few months that even after an entire year in Fashion Rehab I still have one or two (embarrassing) holes in my closet. One of them is a glaring lack of dressy summer shoes. Pumps - of the closed-toe variety - I have, flats, I have, flip flops, (lord knows!) I have. But when my sis, The Cupckae Kid and I were getting ready for a night at the theater during their visit (thanks to my Pa), I had an incredibly hard time finding shoes to wear! I did make the uber smart purchase of a pair of nude Nine West wedges earlier this season which I have worn a zillion times and LOVE, but nothing whatsoever in black!

My only hesitation with these is the lighter colored sole...

I love reading everyone's Closets & Cocktails entries because I am certain to find something in common with these marvy people! In this case, Laura and I share an unyielding love of the slash. Like Laura, I too am a mad sale shopper (it's a bit like a mad style scientist). I think part of my disease is just competing with myself over my most amazing score! Tory Burch gold flats for $70? Check! Topshop wool and leather clog boots from $160 down to $16? (You heard me!) Check! A vintage mint condish YSL Rive Gauche blazer for 9.99? CHECK!!!! I can't stop! I CAN'T stop!!! 365 Fashion Rehab - where are yooooouuuuu??? Also, if I had to guess, I'd say that Laura's most overused phrase might be: "I got the most amazing pair of shoes on sale today..." If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? It would be BIGGER! And more space for shoes. :)

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? I love Kate Moss, Edie Sedgewick and Emma Watson. All for very different reasons, but I think they're amazing.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? A fur coat that my grandma gave me. I'm kind of anti-fur, and would never buy one myself, but the thought of my grandma walking around in it makes it super glamorous and special to me.

What is your greatest shopping regret? I'm not sure if I have any shopping regrets. I am not a very picky shopper, and I typically am pretty happy with all my purchases. I think you can find a way to wear almost anything (even kind of ugly things), if you get creative!

What do you consider your greatest score? I am a mad sale shopper, and buy almost everything on sale. I guess my greatest score would have to be an Alexander Wang bag I got for 60% off at Barney's.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Hmm, not sure I have an answer to this one. :)

What is your greatest extravagance? In my closet? I guess shoes in general. I go a little crazy when it comes to shoes, they are completely my weakness.

I currently have a fedora, a pageboy and a beach hat, but I don't own anything cute that can be worn everyday that will shade my face. My fedora, which I love, covers my forehead but nothing else. (Why do they make the brims so small?) I spend a lot of time outside and have noticed that despite wearing SPF 50, my skin still soaks up those damaging UV rays. I love a tan but loathe the wrinkles that come with it!

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? I'd like it to be bigger! Adequate closet space is a rarity in the city , so I supplement space by storing seasonal items, and having a bureau, and an armoire too!

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? Truly, I most admire my mom's style. She started working in retail in high school for money to buy her own sewing machine and fabric. She made all her own clothes, even a gorgeous emerald green prom dress. She has a classic, tailored style that mixes high, low and vintage... I have my eye on a few pieces of hers to permanently "borrow".

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? My grandmother's promise ring from my grandfather. A gorgeous gold ring with an opal (our shared birthstone) surrounded by rubies. I save it for special occasions.

What is your greatest shopping regret? Considering how girlie and feminine I am now, it might be shocking to hear I was definitely a tomboy in elementary school. I loved tee shirts, cut off shorts and wore a lot of green! I regret asking to dress myself from grades 4-6 rather than having my mom dress me!

What do you consider your greatest score? This beautiful leather purse from Florence that I bought when studying abroad there. I made friends with an old leather maker who was the fifth generation shop owner. He made little leather card cases imprinted with initials that I gave to my family members. I love those heartfelt, handmade pieces that will last forever.

What words or phrases do you most overuse? AMAZING. I say everything is "amazing" or "life changing". Like Proenza's [Schouler] S/S '10 collection was totally life changing. Sometimes even my latte is life changing. It's pretty ridiculous, ha-ha.

What is your greatest extravagance? Skin care and relaxation. There is no money I won't spend for a full beauty routine. (I swear by Mario Badescu) and a massage. I tend to lose, rip, or spill things so I don't splurge on clothes or accessories too much but I am eyeing, wishing and praying for my mother's 2.55 Chanel as a hand me down!

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? This summer I have been all about Rosé. This crisp, cold flavor keeps me cool in this steamy weather we've been having in NY. Plus I love the color!

After reading her Closets & Cocktails interview, I knew right away that Neahle, editor in chief of Style + Saveur and I were stylin' soul mates; I too ripped out and saved (it's tucked into the frame of my chalkboard) the same Lauren Hutton quote! Not to mention the fact that I am a complete bag lady and "sucker for a sick bag" myself! After reading she'd scored two for one at Gucci, I realized we might not be stylin' soul mates as much as she might be my style goddess! Seriously, two for one Gucci? Add to that amazing score the beauty of Paris? Just reading about it practically gave me a stroke (and not the heat related kind)! So, without further adieu, a few insights into Neahle's fashion philosophies and closet confessions...

What is your style motto? There's a Lauren Hutton quote I read in a J. Crew catalogue "Fashion is what you're offered four times a year. Style is what YOU pick out of that fashion." I immediately ripped it out and saved it as a reminder that it's okay I'm not a big risk taker when it comes to fashion. At 32, I've learned not to follow "fashion" or worry about what everyone else is wearing. I stick to what I like and what looks good on my body. Doesn't mean I don't stay current. I immediately jumped on the color blocking bandwagon because it's so me, but I won't be the one in tribal print harem pants because it's just not my style.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? Like most of your other guests [bloggers] I would love more space! I'm very lucky to have a walk-in closet in New York, and that's what sold me on this apartment in the first place. However, I would love to be able to fit a dresser inside the closet and definitely include an open shelving system for my shoes. They're all hidden by long dresses and cast in shadows when they deserve to be on display!

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? I generally admire style moments more so than one person's overall sense of style. Like Rihanna's white Max Azria suit at the Billboard Awards. That look had me at hello but I wouldn't say I'm usually inspired by her. If I had to choose then it would be a combination of Halle Berry and Tracee Ellis Ross. I love Halle's laid back everyday style and Tracee's classic with an edge wardrobe.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? Oh this is a difficult question because there are so many items in my closet that I LOVE! There is one jacket that I would say is a treasured piece. It holds a special place in my heart because I purchased it on my first trip to Paris from a random French boutique. Every time I wear it someone stops me on the street to ask me where I got it from.

What is your greatest shopping regret? I remember being in my early 20's and buying random designer pieces from Century 21 (a discount store here in NYC) simply because it was by such-and-such a designer and it fit. I never wore the majority of them and years later they ended up at the Salvation Army. Total waste of money. I've also had some regrets from online shopping. I ordered what I thought was going to be an amazing long-sleeved black lace shift mini dress from ASOS. It was perfect and I had already planned a few outfits around it. When it arrived it was NOTHING like I'd imagined. I was incredibly disappointed but their return policy is awesome.

What do you consider your greatest score? I'm always looking for a good deal. There isn't a sale, sample sale, flash sale I don't like so I've been able to score some pretty awesome items. My greatest score would have to be another purchase I made in Paris. I was there in January, which is when every store has major sales to clear out merchandise for the upcoming season. My friends and I made a beeline for the high-end designer stores to take advantage of the sale. The staff in the Gucci store were incredibly nice, they let us stay in the store way after it closed, and I was able to score two Gucci clutches for less than the price I would have paid for one.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? I actually don't [over]use too many phrases, though my friends would say otherwise!

What is your greatest extravagance? My closet is a mix of high and low end. A lot of my summer dresses come from The Gap or Old Navy, but I'm a sucker for a sick bag and they tend to be expensive even when on sale. However I truly believe if you buy a good quality purse it can last a lifetime. I take very good care of every bag I own so my daughter (or niece) can shop my closet for her own "vintage" purses one day.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? A big glass of red wine. ;)

What is your style motto? I think I have to quote Wendy Brandes for this, because her "Wear what you want" motto echoes mine. Life is too short to not wear what you want. I believe in taking risks.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? I'd supersize it! My wardrobe actually occupies two-and-a-half closets, plus a dresser. My fondest wish is to have a boudoir--convert an entire room into my dressing room. I'd put a chaise in it so I could recline and read fashion magazines in between staring at my wall of shoes. You know how guys have a man cave? Well, I need a boudoir where my things don't share space with any boy stuff. One day.

Who' s style, past or present, do you most admire? I love Victoria Beckham's style. Since she began designing herself, the woman can do no wrong. She always in sick heels, she sticks to clean lines and she's a master at mixing neutrals and basics. No one makes skinny jeans and a tank top look more glamorous.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? Undoubtedly my black Mongolian lamb vest from Witchery in Australia. I live in it through fall and winter. It makes any outfit look more interesting, and it seriously goes with everything. Plus, it's perfect for warmth without bulk.

What is your greatest shopping regret? Not buying a lace-trimmed, Burberry pale blue check mini kilt for $375 back in the late 90's. I was shopping in Atlanta, and I had the cash, and I just didn't do it. It has haunted me ever since. Forget ever getting anything like it for that price again. I also wish I had invested in a couple Louis Vuitton Epi leather bags back then, before the prices went crazy. I need a big black Alma in my life.

What do you consider your greatest score? I just jagged a pair of Burberry fall 2010 leather over-the-knee boots that retailed for $1,495 for $299. That has been my best score ever. In close second is a pair of $450 leather Michael Kors leggings for something like $77.

What words or phrases do you most overuse? "Love", and "fabulous", and "fantastic". The first thing out of my mouth when I like something is, "Oh, I love that." Being a writer, I wish I could vary my vocab a bit more, but we all have our "comfort" words, right?

What is your greatest extravagance? My BMW 335i twin turbo. It's soooo fast. Love that car. Love. See?! There's the "love" again. Oh well.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? The one in the photo. A dirty Bombay Sapphire martini with three blue cheese stuffed olives. Shaken hard. Mmmm.

I love me a good shift dress. Flattering, classic and oh so versatile. A shift dress will go from day to night, and can be paired with virtually any shoe - flats, platforms, sandals, etc. Over the past few months I have wished for this dress ten times over. Once for a dinner date, another for a baby shower, and another for a friend's surprise birthday party. I own nothing like it! The beautiful bright dresses pictured above are all from Topshop (click on each dress to be redirected to their site) and range in price from $100-$140. I am head over heels about the sleeves (which means these shifts are perfect year round) and the colors are gorgeous.

The only thing left to decide is the color. Perhaps one of each?

When A and I started this crazy nuts bananas project & website, we did a whole lot of research seeking out fashionistas who were taking the blogging world by storm. One of the first lovelies we found was Niki (a fellow Canadian girl!) from A Haute Mess (she was also one of the first sites we added to our blog roll - check it out to the right hand!) so we are are especially stoked that Niki agreed to be one of the blogeristas featured in Closets & Cocktails! What is your style motto? Shamelessness. I've been quoted as saying, "I'll wear a drop crotch down to my knees and a mini skirt up to my crotch." I keep it classy.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? I wouldn't change my closet, I would change my relationship with my closet. I never keep it organized enough and all of its contents usually end up in a heap on my floor. Where has the love and respect in our relationship gone?

Who's style, past or present, doyou most admire? I love Emmanuelle Alt's style. She does glam-rock-chic to perfection. I actually saw her at the Diesel Black Gold show at New York Fashion Week in February. She walked right by me with the rest of the French Vogue team and my jaw literally dropped to the floor (it was probably my biggest fan girl moment aside from chatting with Tim Gunn). They are all so tall, glamorous, beautiful and chic -- everything you'd imagine the editors of Vogue Paris would be!

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? I treasure anything vintage/antique that I've inherited. Right now I'm obsessed with this fur capelet that belonged to my boyfriend's grandmother. I've been harassing vintage experts on the interwebz for a few weeks now and have finally found out it's from the 1940's. Vintage Eaton's, boo yeah. I also treasure this beautiful Baltic amber necklace that my mom gave me, it belonged to my great-grandmother.

What is your greatest shopping regret? My black Louboutin ankle boots. They're so high. And so uncomfortable. And I can't wear them because I'm actually terrified that I'm going to seriously injure myself.

What do you consider your greatest score? I have a vintage YSL dress (designed by the man himself) that I scored for only 80 bones.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Oh man, so many. Itend to abbreviate words to the point where people don't understand what I'm saying i.e. I'll ask you to make the "exec deshiz" aka executive decision. I always say "profesh", instead of professional, and"offish" instead of official. The last one is brutal via text. I accidentally started a rumor that a couple of friends of mine had stopped seeing each other, but what I meant to say was that they were officially dating as in, "so and so are offish now". Sigh. No one understands me.

What is your greatest extravagance? My hair. My color's not natural, do you even believe it? HA.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? Vodka soda with lemon. Don't worry, no vodka was harmed and/or wasted in the taking of these photos.

If I Were a Rich Girl... LV Monogram Bag

The other day at work, I saw one of these beauties dangling from the arm of a very lovely young lady. Though long considered a classic, the monogram Louis Vuitton bag (known to fashion insiders as the Speedy) has never been my favorite. Should there ever be the option for a super high-end bag in my life, I always just figured I'd go for the iconic quilted Chanel with the chain strap in wear-with-everything black - just off the top of my head.

But as soon as I spied the personalized version, I saw this bag in a whole new light - a navy and orange, PNA kind of light. And just like that, the doubly monogrammed Louis Vuitton knocked the double C's out of the top spot on my luxury list.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? This is going to sound crazy, but I'm totally anal when it comes to organization, and I hate that my hangers don't match. One day, I'll have a complete set of matching hangers.

Whose style, past or present do you most admire? My mom. She knows how to dress for her body, and she is ridiculously stylish without being a slave to trends.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? My grandmother's Somali leopard coat from the 30's. She and her twin sister got matching ones as high school graduation gifts, and now they belong to my cousin and I.

What is your greatest shopping regret? I don't know if I have any shopping regrets to be honest. I'm a big believer in returns, so if something isn't right, back to the store it goes!

What do you consider your greatest score? See those leopard print booties? They're by Loeffler Randall. I was admiring them for months, but I just couldn't bear to pay full price. I waited through two rounds of markdowns and finally got them for 75% off. It was a proud proud moment.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? I tend to get lines from songs stuck in my head and then repeat them to my boyfriend incessantly. Does that count?

What is your greatest extravagance? Judging by my closet, I'd have to go with shoes.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? Bloody Marys! I don't get to drink them too often since they're really a brunch cocktail, but I order them whenever I have a chance.

My New Crush: The Maxi

Hey there, remember me? Today marks the eight week birthday of my new little girl and I have finally decided to come out of my post-partum daze and talk fashion. I must admit I have been struggling on an almost daily basis about what to wear. Most (as in 90%) of my pre-pregnancy clothes are way too tight, so I am currently trying to use a mix of accessories to bring some sass to my daily uniform of black lounge pants and nursing tops. But now, with the hot weather finally here, what does a fashion loving mama in my situation do? Cuffed shorts and clingy dresses are certainly not on the menu, but there is one article of clothing that I have fallen in love with and can't seem to live without: The maxi skirt!

I treated myself to a very inexpensive cream maxi at Forever 21 (although I love the printed one above) for my birthday and I also happen to have a couple stashed in my closet from a few seasons ago. The maxi skirt is so versatile it can be worn with pretty much anything. Pair it with a denim shirt (tied at the waist 80's style), a simple tank, an oversized t-shirt, a belted cardi - anything goes!

What is your greatest shopping regret? A pair of peep toe heels with a 10cm skinny heel. Although it's a classic black peep toe pump, it's too high and I have no occasion to wear it. I ended up selling them.

What do you consider your greatest score? A friend introduced me to the label Morrison and I've been hooked on their Velcro tab pants since then. I also like seeing what they release each season.

What is your greatest extravagance? My Burberry trench. Can't go past a classic trench.

Those of you who are familiar with Elizabeth Arden's 8-hour collection know that it's a cult favorite. I was introduced to it by A and have been sporting this lovely lippy in a sheer pink shade all spring long. And while I love the subtlety of the color, there are days when I want a bit more punch, a titch more pizazz.

I have wanted this berry version for quite some time now and the only thing stopping me is the price and wanting to put our conscious consumer lessons to solid use. I wonder if I should perhaps wait until I've finished the first tube? Or buy it toute suite because once you find something you love, it's wise to buy multiples (and I do love it! The SPF 15 gives it full marks in my books!). And yet, $17 still feels a bit steep.

So, as with so many Lusts or Must before, I put it to you: yay or nay?

Letter #7 - Me & My Kettle

Dear Kettle,

I know I use you a lot,

especially in the winter.

I love tea. I have a hundred different kinds of tea.

Green, herbal, black (though that's more A's style) teas are a big staple in my life, and in A's life.

The thing about you Kettle is that I hate you.

You're cheap, you're old, I am constantly moving you from the stove to the sideboard in the hopes that you will not get covered in oil as you do whenever Mr. Darling or I cook dinner and then you get further covered in a sticky substance that is about as easy to clean as red wine on a white shag rug and, basically you just suck.

Yes, you boil my water and yes, I should probably be grateful that you do the job you're supposed to do, but for some reason every time I boil myself a cup of tea, you make me depressed.

Now, there's a dream kettle out there for me.

I've seen it. I've touched it.

I've used it. I've even made a cup of tea with it.

It was a kettle that A had on her wedding registry and coincidentally, another woman who loves tea, The Mater was the one that got it for her and her husband.

I am obsessed with this kettle (sorry).

It's from Crate & Barrel and it's 50$, but for some reason I cannot seem to justify spending 50$ on a kettle.

Now we have some interesting new things that we've been working on here at 365FR and I can tell you this; if any one of those projects comes to fruition the first thing I will buy with my hard earned dollars probably won't be a Chanel bag or a pair of Jimmy Choos.

It'll probably be that kettle.

And when I go to the stove and I boil a cup and I look at that kettle I'm going to feel like I've made it.

So what does that say about me?

I don't know. Who's kidding who?

The chances of my turning down a Chanel bag are slim to none.

And though we here at 365FR feel giddy upon hearing about her ultimate score, don't tell our current feature fashionista Sarah May about the vintage Frye boots! So without further adieu, a few insights into Adelle's fashion philosophies and closet confessions...

What is your style motto? The 70's are my spirit decade. I always feel inspired by the color, volume and overall drama people infused their look with. More generally: color and prints always work - and they're always a good idea.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? The easy answer is that it would be bigger! Although it's already a walk-in, ha! So far, I've solved the problem by extending my closet out into my bedroom with: a rolling rack outside my closet, a shoe rack hanging on my closet door, and scarves hanging on my bedroom door. This is of course in addition to my two dressers (I have a lot of clothing). The other solution I employ is to constantly re-organize my closet to remind myself of what I have and change up how I see things.

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? Diana Ross, Carrie Bradshaw, Michelle Obama, and Kyle from The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. Michelle Obama inspired me to start working out again, especially to buff up my arms.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? My most absolutely treasured possession I lost last summer in Urban Outfitters, in San Francisco's Union Square. I took it off to try on some other rings, but once I realized it was gone. I thought I had lost it somewhere else. By the time I came back to UO it was gone. It was a ring in the shape of a snake, etched to mimic a snakeskin, that I bought in the French countryside while on study abroad in college.

What is your greatest shopping regret? Ugh, my Alaia stilettos. I don't use credit cards, and when I bought them I technically had the cash... forgetting that the money should have been used for other things (like plane ticket for an upcoming trip). They're beautiful, but extremely difficult to wear, and buying them messed up my budget for a good 2-3 months.

What do you consider your greatest score? What comes to mind is a pair of Loeffler Randall heels from Bloomingdale's; they were on sale, Bloomingdale's was running a promotion which discounted them even more, and on top of that I was able to use a coupon. That's the beauty of department stores! My greatest non-monetary score is my beloved pair of vintage Frye boots from the 70's. I was over at a friends' house discussing our shoe sizes, and her mother mentioned that she was about to give away these beautiful boots that she splurged on in college, but that she hadn't worn since having her first child (my friend). She offered them to me. I tried them on, and they were, and still are, perfect.

What words or phrases do you most overuse? I can't think of anything I overuse...

What is your greatest extravagance? See: Alaia stilettos. And statement pieces, like a bright red, sheer Sass & Bide floor-length jacket, or a beautifully printed maxi-dress from Anthropologie. I have a growing Anthropologie habit in general. And nice underwear - it's my new favorite thing.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? The Dub-L! Bourbon with a dash of simple syrup and fresh pressed lime. Or just bourbon with a lime wedge. :)

HGF's Wishful Shopping Thoughts

P and I have had, at length, many conversations about lessons learned during her time in Fashion Rehab. One that strongly resonated with me is P's discovery that she often shopped for a life she wished she had instead of the life she does have. What does this mean? Well, it means different things to different people, but for me it means I do not have a closet full of beautiful clutches, soaring high heels and short shorts.

Allow me to expand further, as I too have been guilty of this affliction P has previously written about Wishful Shopping-itis. It usually ends up with me having a collection of stunning dresses hanging in my way-too-small closet that never get to come out and play. I have recently reformed my ways (for the most part...) and now shop according to my every day life, only once in a while treating myself to something I know I will only wear once or twice (like the gold lame Halston dress I scored for $50; I mean, seriously, could you walk away from 80% off?)

I have come to realize there are 3 major factors that dictate my daily wardrobe choices. Now when I shop, I try to make sure that any new garment I am buying fits at least one of the criteria for every day use:

1. I bike. Everywhere. I live in downtown Toronto and do not need a car, nor would I have anywhere to park said car if it existed. Well, thank goodness for cross-body bags! Hands-free, out of the way and perfect for a cyclist. So glad they have seen a resurgence in popularity this past year. I especially love the ones with a removable strap, that way you can have the best of both worlds!

2. I have a job that requires me to be on my feet practically the whole time. This means no sky-high platforms for me. Instead, I opt for a comfortable flat or something with a short 1" heel. When I am not at work and I'm running errands around the city, wedges are perfect. This year I picked up a great pair from the Gap that I know I will be wearing non-stop! Comfort + style!

3. I live in Canada. This means we get lovely warm sunny weather 3-4 months out of the year and the rest of the time it's quite chilly and grey. Normally, you would think this would be a total bummer, but I love a good jacket!Therefore my penchant for collecting jackets is 100% justified. I have about 20 (not counting blazers) and they all get worn often. Recently, I realized I was lacking a good black leather jacket, so I pounced on this baby!

So I put the question to you: have you ever been guilty of wishful shopping like P and I? And how do you manage to stay chic according to your lifestyle?

What is your style motto? Wear what fits, label and size don't matter as much as the correct fit.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? More space. I also want to make an organized shelf and some mood boards.

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? Past: Audrey Hepburn. Present: Ashley Olsen and Olivia Palermo.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? My shoes. They each tell a distinctive story. When I got them, where I wore them for the first time, and who I met while wearing them.

What is your greatest shopping regret? Passing up a pair of platform Pradas in my size while working at Barney's. Whenever I see them I get sad all over again.

What do you consider your greatest score? My first pair of designer jeans were 7 for All Mankind (I'm talking a couple of years ago) I scored in my size at Nordstrom for $9.99 (maybe the ticket was a mistake?), I was on such a high for the rest of that day!

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? "Like" and "I love that".

What is your greatest extravagance? Traveling. I have to have the window seat on the plane and the highest floor in the hotel. I love to travel and the "getting there" portion as much as the time I spend once I arrive.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? I like a good virgin pina colada. I actually don't drink (or like) alcohol. Give me a coffee any day, any time! ;)

Lust or Must - Lacoste Nylon Tote

Sadly, after almost a week of beautiful weather, the weatherman is calling for five full days of rain (ugh). But it got me thinking that I don't have a good bag for a rainy day. I need a new non-leather carrier and I'm not necessarily talking about running around in a downpour, just not freaking out about water marks on my bag if I get caught in a spring shower.

(Who's kidding who? With this latest forecast, chances of that happening are hight. Double ugh.)

I have a great grey faux leather bag (A and I have the same one) but I've used it so much it's finally falling apart. I thought this could be a good replacement (it's $95). I love the pop of brilliant color though I'm on the fence about the alligator...

What is your style motto? This has been many years in the making, but my style motto is "Dress in clothes you love". I've spent too much time trying to wrestle my style and my body into clothes that don't work for me, because of trends or because I've loved something on someone who doesn't look anything like me. Now I'm (mostly) content to admire what looks good on others and stick to what works for me, and, more importantly, what I love.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? With my new condo, my closet space has definitely been upgraded, so I shouldn't complain too much, but I would love a walk-in one day. With better lighting.

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? I love Kate Winslet and Rachel Weisz's simple and sophisticated style. I also love how cute and quirky Zooey Deschanel is.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? Ooh, tough one! I love all my clothes! I think my most treasured possession is my Anne Hung dress that I wore to my brother's wedding. Unfortunately, I don't get to wear it that often, but I adore it.

What is your greatest shopping regret? Luckily, I don't have many shopping regrets. That doesn't mean I haven't missed out on some clothes I loved, but I don't want to spend too much time dwelling on them.

What do you consider your greatest score? I just scored a great Anthropologie top (from a few years ago) from a blogger.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Everything is "cute" to me. I should really try to find another adjective.

What is your greatest extravagance? Wolford tights. Once I tried them, I couldn't go back to cheap tights. Unfortunately , they're not cheap. A pair of my staple Satin Opaque tights (I love the subtle shimmer to them) cost $63, so I order them online for £19 (roughly $35).

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? Actually, alcohol makes me violently ill. When I'm out, I'll have a Limonata or a cranberry & soda. And then I'll drive everyone home. My friends love me for that.

The 5 W's - Clinique Bottom Lash Mascara

I have long been lusting after a lower lash mascara. For too long. For sooooo long, in fact, that my Rehab Sister had to step in, take matters in to her very capable hands and turn the lusting into musting!

For my birthday, amongst other marvy gifts, A got me Clinique's Bottom Lash mascara. I tried it out a few days ago when I got dolled up for a night out with the girls and I am overjoyed with the results! The wand is tiny, but all the better to coat those hard to reach under eye lashes. It was almost suspiciously easy to apply and Clinique's mascara is so gloriously glossy! I used only the mini wand on my eyes in the photo above - not bad, huh?

Thank goodness A had the smarts to save me from myself. It certainly wasn't the first time. And I bet it won't be the last. If I'm lucky.

If you could share one thing about your closet, what would it be? The size! I want an actual walk-in!

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? Gwen Stefani. She's stunning, funky, totally original and just oozing with glamour. Most importantly she beats to her own fashion drum and has never strayed from that. That's a fashionista after my own heart.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? My very first pair of Betsey Johnson platforms. I've had them since 2001. They were my marathon shoes. I ran all over New York City in them. Wooden heel with black leather. A peep-toe mule shape with an ankle strap. Totally 1940's glamorous and super sexy and stripper-like at the same time. I've since retired them, but I'll never let them go.

What is your greatest shopping regret? I guess I would say that I'll buy a bunch of small items, quick fixer uppers and/or accessories for a ton of money instead of purchasing ONE fabulous piece. I totally cannot take my own styling advice...

What do you consider your greatest score? The $25 Matthew Williamson dress that I picked up at a resale store... (I'm wearing in the photo!)

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? My mother will slap my wrist for saying this, but I swear way too much. The tough New Yorker will never leave me... Don't get me riled up... I'll be dropping F-bombs all over the place. (So ladylike, right?)

What is your greatest extravagance? Believe it or not, I don't have anything I would call my greatest extravagance. For being a stylist, I am a very humble and simple person. I definitely haven't purchased it yet. Maybe when I buy myself my first McQueen clutch... I'll update my answer.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? Tequila on the rocks with a twist of lime.

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? Well, that's an easy one... I would wish for it to be bigger! My dream is to have a closet like Carrie from SATC has towards the end of the last season. I want to be able to see everything I own! :)

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? Well, I have to sat that I love Olivia Palermo, Joelle van Dyne and so many others. I get inspiration everyday from other fashion bloggers!

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? My Christian Louboutin peep-toe heels... I hope to own more luxurious heels in the future. :)

What is your greatest shopping regret? I don't have one that stands out in particular, however, I do a lot of shopping online and I have bought the wrong size MULTIPLE times. In some cases, I couldn't even return the item! Silly me...

What do you consider your greatest score? Actually, the other day I was browsing around and came across the Tobi sale with Loeffler Randal shoes - I was thinking to myself there was NO way that my size was still left. To my surprise the only size left was my size 9 and I scored the heels for more than 60% off the price! So exciting!

What words or phrases do you most overuse? Wicked. Yes I am from Massachusetts and we all say WICKED. I use it to describe everything. For example... right now I am wicked tired and wicked hungry. Yes, it's ridiculous, but it makes me who I am!

What is your greatest extravagance? My boyfriend always thinks I am crazy for having too many shoes, but honestly I really think that a woman can never have too many. One pair for each occasion.

What is your style motto? My style motto is definitely "Tomboy Chic", I'm a jeans and t-shirt gal at heart and 9 times out of 10, that's what you'll see me in. As for the "chic" part, I'm sort of obsessed with sequins, specifically vintage sequin jackets and tops. I have what I like to call an eccentric flair!

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? Well since I technically have 3 closets (jealous, right?) can I change 3 things? 1. I would like a pair of Charlotte Olympia shoes in one closet. 2. I would like a pair of Brian Atwood shoes in another closet. 3. I would like my closets to stay clean at all times (it tends to become messy when I have to "plan" an outfit).

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? This one is always a hard one because I'm a very independent thinker, and my personality has always been that of a rebel so I try not to fawn over people's style too much. If I had to choose it would be Tilda Swinton; she is always on the worst dressed list, but this lady exudes fashion and confidence. She knows her style and wears what she likes not what pleases the masses. She is what I think of when I think of a real fashionista.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? That changes frequently depending on the mood I'm in but this week, I would have to say it's my most recent purchase; an Oleg Cassini sequin trophy jacket.

What is your greatest shopping regret? I live by the motto "NO REGRETS!" especially when there are all these wonderful consignment stores around. If I no longer like something, I trade up for something better!

What do you consider your greatest score? It's usually shoes; I find some really cute ones in the oddest places for dirt cheap. And yes, I am keeping said places a secret for now.

What words or phrases do you most overuse? "Hella", but hey, I was born and raised in Northern California, it's to be expected. Oddly, I almost never use it on my blog.

What is your greatest extravagance? I would have to say it's my weekly trip to the hair salon. I used to go bi-weekly, but since I decided on a new pixie cut, the maintenance requires I go weekly. I've also added a monthly massage to my to-do list as a gift to myself since I work out 6 days a week.

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? Like Lay's potato chips, I cannot choose just one. I'm a classic type of girl; a dirty martini and whiskey & ginger ale are two of my favorites. (I'm not pictured with my favorite drink though.)

The Vintage Guide - part 2

So, I figured it would be a good idea to follow up last week's thrifting tutorial with a round-up of two pieces that made i it from the boutique to my closet. First up, the dress featured in my last post that had me going from "Yes." to "No!" to "Maybe...", and finally to "Yes! Yes! Yes!" Here's why:

Item #1 - Cream Silk Dress

1. It's made from raw silk!

2. The origin is unknown, but clearly vintage, evident from the precise construction.

3. I may not wear it often, but it's a special item to add to my wardrobe.

4. It's in excellent vintage condition. It will need only a slight alteration to the hem that I can do myself (therefore, no extra cost!)

5. I know I will never see anything like it again. And, the fit is superb! The cream color is also perfect for a Ginger!

At $45, with all these boxes checked, it was a steal.

Item #2 - The Trench

1. It's made from a combination of cotton and polyester. Poly isn't always bad, particularly when it is being used for an outerwear piece.

2. There is no "made in" label, but it fits my under $35 rule as the asking price is $14.99 less 30%! The under $35 rule cancels out the unchecked "made in" box.

3. It's totally timeless. This is the inexpensive trench I have been looking for and I know I will wear it for a very long time.

4. The quality is excellent: fully lined, sturdy fabric, no stains and practically no signs of wear. I will be taking it to the tailor to get it shortened, though, so my original $10 (after the discount) score will come up to about $20-$30 in total.

5. This trench fills a big hole in my wardrobe and I love that it is more of an army green than a traditional taupe.

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? A St. John coat that I bought with my first paycheck when I was a lawyer.

What is your greatest shopping regret? I passed up a black Gucci gown for a mere $299 at Saks Off Fifth about 15 years ago...

What do you consider your greatest score? A Lanvin dress I bought for $199 at the Barneys Warehouse sale a few years back.

What is your greatest extravagance? I have a few: Starbucks quadruple lattes, professional highlights and weekly purchases from The Outnet!

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Fabulous! Gorgeous! 'Tis True!

She is also blogging about her experiences (or lack there of!) and her posts are funny, heartfelt and, at many times, poignant. I wrote a guest post for her blog a few weeks ago; Love, Empowerment & Misery and she thought it fitting to return the favor. We're super glad she did!

When I first met P, it was love at first sight. We had many mutual friends & had seen each other around town for years, but one sunny day we decided to go grab a drink (just the two of us) on a patio. After a glass of wine (or two, tee-hee!) I knew she was a lady after my own heart. We had so much in common, in fact, that we’ve since had an on-going joke of removing our fake glasses from our faces whilst staring at each other saying, “Me?!” as if we were looking at our own reflection in the mirror. There are, obviously, some differences between us. P is very stylish. Not to down-grade my own approach to fashion, but P is one of those women who always looks polished & fresh no matter when or where we are going. That’s one of the reasons why I love her (& A!)’s blog.

Not only do I admire her fashion-sense, but also her drive & ambition, her sexy-brains & her fantastic laugh that makes my job feel worthwhile (I’m a stand-up comic by trade). P actually inspired my own project/blog, “The One Year Manbbatical” (I’ve given up dating & men for a year). P has been incredibly supportive over this abstemious year - helping me with everything from computer glitches, ideas & advice when the going gets tough. She obviously knows the pains of giving something up that you love, yet that you can’t quite seem to balance properly in everyday life. Now that her & A have lived through (almost) a year of completion of Fashion Rehab, lessons have set in for the two of them retroactively that I have yet to learn. P has been graciously sharing those lessons with me, guiding me through.

My year of he-tox is almost over, having little over a month left to go. So I’ll be out there, in the murky waters of the dating pool again. I’m going to want to look my best. It’s spring, I’ve lost weight, & I need some new clothes. Guess whom I’ll be looking to for help? You got it, Pontiac. The 365 Fashion Rehab girls. It’s not that I can’t figure out how to dress my own self or am oblivious to what I like to wear, but P&A always seem to be slightly ahead of my personal fashion learning curve. Their blog has introduced me to designers I had never heard of & styles I hadn’t thought of (i.e. SOOS ROCKS!!!! Love love love their jewelry!). Even when I’m in my favorite uniform of jeans & a t-shirt, I’ll think of a little accessory like a bracelet, ring or scarf that P has turned me on to & it adds that pinch of salt to the soup of my wardrobe that I’d been missing.

I want to thank P (&A!) for that salt. I’d also like to thank them for writing about fashion (& LIFE) in a genuine, honest, touching way. I’d like to thank P for her years of unyielding friendship & support, & for her understanding of what it’s like to deprive yourself of something that you just love for a FULL YEAR, blog about it, miss it terribly & learn life lessons, all the while. I’d also like to look great while doing all of that, & thanks to 365 Fashion Rehab, I can.

Last night, Mr. Darling and I got all spiffed up and headed downtown to the Writers Guild of Canada Screenwriting Awards at Maro in Liberty Village. Hosted by the incredibly hilarious Laurie Elliott and filled with some of the industries finest scribes, we raised a glass, ate some nibblies and maybe even shared an impromptu dance (he's quite the romantic, my Mr. Darling). The meteorological gods smiled down on us with an unusually warm spring evening, and I think it's safe to say a good time was had by all. And if not all, at least by me and my man!

Lust or Must? Ciao Bella Serenity Sandals

As I prepare for my mini-mat(ernity) leave from 365FR I thought it only appropriate to ask your opinion on one final item before becoming a mother of (gasp!) two. (Special thanks to my BFF P for temporarily taking over full-time, to our special guest blogger Ginger Dame from Hunt. Gather. Fashion and to all the fab bloggers who will be strutting their stuff in our now-weekly Closets and Cocktails feature!) Originally I wanted to post a photo of a gorgeous wrap dress or a sleek pair of cropped cargos but it takes a long time to shed the extra baby weight and spending money on anything of quality right now should be reserved for accessories or shoes. All other purchases (like sexy dresses and form-fitting camis) will have to wait until I am well on my way to my desired post-baby weight. Hopefully that'll be sooner rather than later...

I think these cute Ciao Bella sandals are perfect for my LBC (lifestyle, budget, climate). Four-inch heels and a newborn don't really mix unless you only roll with a nanny and you never actually carry your baby (sadly, that is not me) so flats it shall be. Although I love these shoes, I can't help but wonder if they are a bit too safe? Let me know, ladies! It will give me something to ponder while I wait for the little lady in my belly to make her debut.

Lust or Must - The Vintage Guide

For her inaugural post in her official capacity as featured 365FR Guest Blogger (on the eve of A's mat leave), Sarah May from Hunt. Gather. Fashion. gives us some insight on how to thrift like an expert (she is quite talented! I've seen her in action!)

Picture it. You are shopping, alone, and you lay eyes on the most fabulous dress/shoes/bag. The color is stunning, the silhouette is perfect. You try it on and decide that, yes! you and it are one - You. Must. Have. It. Then you make your way to the cash register and, suddenly, you are hit with THAT feeling. Maybe you don’t really need it; maybe you just really want it? Now, you have one of 3 choices:

You put it on hold, walk away and think about it.

You go for it! Why not? It's a once in a lifetime opportunity!

You leave it; decide it's only lust at first sight. Perhaps if you are still thinking about it in a week and it’s still there then it just might be meant to be...

But wait! This is no ordinary day of shopping, this is vintage shopping and ALL the rules are different. How do you know? Do you pull the trigger or walk away? There are no returns, no holds and it’s the ONLY one!

Having recently found myself in this exact predicament (with the dress pictured below), I have come to the conclusion that there are 5 questions one must ask oneself in order to clarify the vintage Lust or Must? conundrum.

Keep in mind this isn’t a fail proof recipe, rather advice from a life-long, self-declared thrifting maven.

1. What is it made out of?

Look for fabric information on labels. You want to try to take home items with natural fibers like silk, leather, wool, cotton or linen. The 70’s style may be hot right now, but there is no need to resurrect that BAD polyester trend. Steer clear!

2. Where was it made?

Chances are if it was made in China, Korea, Taiwan (or another large Asian manufacturing centre) you aren’t really getting a true vintage item, but something that was mass produced. Unless the item is out-of-this-world spectacular, you should pay no more than $25-$35. Look instead for items manufactured in the USA, Canada, and European countries.

3. When will I wear/use it?

Trendy or timeless? Are you looking for something to inexpensively update your wardrobe for the season or is this an investment piece, like the perfect trench?

4. Is it Worth it? (Quality & Cost)

Examine your treasure for craftsmanship and details. Look at buttons, stitching and finishing. Do the pants have a lining? Are there stains, holes or weaknesses in the material? A lot of vintage re-sellers these days will try to get away with charging too much for crappy quality items, underestimating their savvy fashionista shoppers!

*Don’t forget to take in to account the price of possible alterations and cleaning.*

5. Why is it exceptional?

Ask yourself what about the garment (or accessory) makes you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Is the leather buttery soft? Is the print screaming Pucci, pick me!? What about that scalloped hem line? Remember, part of shopping vintage is finding items that are unique and special.

If, after asking yourself all the above questions you are still feeling torn, remember the power of technology. Grab that phone, call, text and tweet. Snap a pic and send it to a trusted friend, get a second opinion, and rest assured your (former) fashion emergency is not so dire after-all!

For the next Closets & Cocktails installment, A and I could not be happier to have the adorable (I mean, are you looking at this photo?) Erika, creator of Cafe Fashionista as our latest interviewee. We especially love her "Hi, I Adore You..." series and there's no doubt about it - this girl knows her shoes! So, without further adieu, a few insights into her fashion philosophies and her closet confessions...

What is your style moto? It's all about the shoes!

If you could change one thing about your closet, what would it be? Windows! I desperately want some sort of light to be able to enter my closet when I'm in there, as I spend hours upon hours going through things, and putting outfits together - all with the help of a single lightbulb above me. I want some natural light!

Who's style, past or present, do you most admire? This used to change all the time for me; but for the past year or so, I have been all about Blake Lively as Serena van der Woodsen on Gossip Girl's style. I love the way she switches it up - sometimes she's bohemian, other times she's sophisticated. Yet, no matter what, she looks incredible!

What is your most treasured possession in your closet? Shoes, of course! But a specific pair... I'd have to go with my Diane von Furstenberg Pandora wedge espadrilles in nude. I bought them from shopbop a little over a month ago, and I am just obssessed with them. Definitely my most treasured possession at the moment!

What is your greatest shopping regret? Returning a pair of Jeffery Campbell Magdalina flower print sandals. I bought them, worried that they were a little too big and I would fall or something, so I returned them. Biggest regret of my life. I have been stalking shopbop ever since in the hopes that they will restock and I can order them again - I NEED them in my life! :(

What do you consider your greatest score? Definitely my LC Lauren Conrad Zander platform sandals from Kohl's. With coupons I was able to get them for under $35 and I am smitten. They are incredible! I kind of wish I would have bought two pairs before they completely sold out! :p

Which words or phrases do you most overuse? Ohmigosh is numero uno, I cannot tell you how often I shriek this word - it's kind of sad. Addtionally, I tend to use the word ridiculous quite often - as in, "Ohmigosh that is ridiculous!" For me, it means amazing. I also randomly yell out "Bonsoir babe!" at times, which is just a quirk of mine. Oh, and, of course, I tend to to refer to everyone as "My love". :p

What is your greatest extravagance? Shoes! I will live in camis and jeans from Forever 21; but when it comes to shoes, I am all about splurging. I am obsessed - I probably talk about them 79% of the time. :)

BONUS QUESTION: What is your favorite cocktail? Coffee! Seriously, caffeine is my cocktail!
